Let´s Celebrate! Women in Science Day on February 11!

The 6th Assembly theme is “Beyond the Borders: Equality in Science for Society”.

It focues on the value of the social aspects and cultural dimensions in Science, Technology and Innovation. Thus, it will enhance sustainable development programmes.

The Assembly will feature Our Blind Fellow Scientists for the first time. This will happen through a high-level panel entitled Writing Science in Braille. It aims to raise the international community’s attention towards the rights of blind and visually impaired individuals – particularly women and girls – in science, education and literacy.

Furthermore, the 6th Assembly will promote a holistic approach to discuss “How to Drive Innovative Economy in the Post-COVID Era”:

– Aligning Science with the Innovation Economy

– Water Economics for Inclusive Innovative Green Growth

– Women in Science for the Oceans: Celebrating the beginning of the Oceans Decade

– Creativity of Science for Reviving Economy: Celebrating the International Year for Creative Economy

– Women in Science and Diplomacy: Celebrating the International Year of Peace & Trust.

The 6th International Day of Women and Girls in Science Assembly is organized by the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT), and Permanent Missions of Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Hungary, Kenya, Malta, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Slovenia -to the United Nations and co-sponsored by Permanent Missions of Costa Rica, Montenegro and San Marino to the United Nations, as well as the African Union, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and the World Intellectuals Property Organization (WIPO).
